An often forgotten issue is how to distribute content. Chapter 5 describes manual as well as automated distribution methods. Sending CDs and DVDs by mail might do with small-scale systems, but broadband distribution is a great improvement. I have tried to describe the benefits and drawbacks of both alternatives. In the case of broadband distribution, manual retrieval of content as well as the remote printing option is described. Of course, also presented is the fully automated retrieval of content for digital signage, along with aspects on how to choose size of server and Internet backbone connection capacity.

Chapter 5 contains 16 full-color illustrations.

Media players programmed to retrieve content automatically from the central server provide many benefits to a digital signage system.
