Terrestrial television has survived the introduction of cable, broadband and satellite. Today, it is still the basic way of receiving television in many countries. Chapter 6 contains lots of information on antennas as well as detailed information on the DVB-T standard based on COFDM one of the most advanced modulation schemes ever introduced. The design and advantages of this system are discussed along with the details about set-top boxes. Possible reception problems in single frequency networks (SFN) and ways to avoid these problems are covered. (The American ATSC-standard for digital terrestrial TV is covered in Appendix 1). There is also a section in mobile terrestrial television, DVB-H.

Chapter 6 contains 22 illustrations.
